The Agricultural Dryness Index (ADI) quantifies short-term drying conditions relevant for agricultural drought monitoring. ECMWF IFS forecast parameters (temperature, dew point, wind, soil wetness) is used for calculating cumulative dryness signal. The forecast is initialized using a 7-day accumulated ADI derived from analysis fields that provide memory of recent drying conditions.

Daily forecasted parameters are cumulatively added to the initial 7-day ADI to produce a 10-day projected ADI values. It can be graphically presented as a forecast daily maps and/or time series plot for specific locations.

The Radar Early Warning service continuously monitors weather radar observations around each Virtual Weather Station by automatically retrieving the latest radar data every 5 minutes. The system analyzes precipitation echoes in real time and provides location-specific information on approaching rainfall.

For every monitored location, the service detects the presence of precipitation, identifies the nearest radar echo, estimates its approach direction and movement speed, and generates timely alerts to support weather-sensitive agricultural operations.
